Monte Carlo Centennial Ball, 1966

On 28 May 1966, Hélène Rochas hosted the glittering Monte-Carlo Centenary Ball at the Monte-Carlo Opera in Monaco to commemorate a century since the founding of the city. Prince Rainier III of Monaco and Princess Grace (wearing Empress Josephine's Coronation Tiara) were among the 19th-century-dressed guests, as was Begum Aga Khan, the wife of Sultan Muhammad Shah, Aga Khan III.

The Ball's hostess, Hélène Rochas, a socialite born in Montauban-de-Picardie, was the wife and muse of Marcel Rochas, a grand couturier and businessman, and took over the presidency of the Rochas perfume house after his death in 1955, alongside her partner Albert Gosset.
